ATP: Tomas Berdych vs Janko Tipsarevic

Tomas Berdych is not playing his best tennis in Dusseldorf so far, but he still has all three wins here and is the leading actor in Czech team. He won over Roddick in first round in two more than easy sets, but Roddick showed awful tennis here losing not only to Berdych, but also to Go Soeda and Carlos Berlocq, all three matches in two sets. Later on, the Czech won over Go Soeda, but had to struggle in three, just as against Carlos Berlocq in third round, finished the third set with a 6:3 result. After a very good start of the season at clay court tournaments, where Berdych reached semifinals of Monte Carlo, finals of Madrid Open and quarter-finals of Rome (he was eliminated by arguably three best players in the World – Djokovic, Federer and Nadal), he is still earning victories but it’s obvious that his level of tennis is not at his best and that he might be slipping down a bit in his form.Janko Tipsarevic, on the other side, had two easy wins in the group stage defeating Bogomolov and Zovko, losing only four games in these two matches. The third match, that was a deciding game for Serbia, he managed to win Kohlchereiber 6-4 3-6 7-5 and later on to secure the Finals at Dusseldorf World Cup. He is not having so good season as his opponent does, but still he had some interesting wins this Spring. He reached quarterfinals of Barcelona where he was defeated by Nadal, but later on next week he reached semifinals of Madrid, beating on his way Simon and Djokovic (in two sets), before losing to Federer in already mentioned semifinal. As said, he is not having a bad season at all and more promising for this match is that he was almost always at his very best when playing for the national team.Berdych’s game had a lot of holes this week in Dusseldorf. During some of the sets it really looked like he is completely out of his form and that he lacks timing hitting the ball. These two players already met nine times, with score being set in Berdych’s favor 5-4. There is no doubt that we will have another interesting match in front of us and that Tipsarevic has much more chances to win this match than the odds suggest.

WTA: Alize Cornet vs Francesca Schiavone
Alize Cornet struggled big time in every single match here in Strasbourg, but she managed somehow to enter the finals where she awaits much, much stronger opponent than the previous ones were. Starting from Govortseva in first round and Peer in second, where she needed three sets to complete the victories, Cornet also struggled in quarter-finals against Medina Garrigues, but also yesterday against Pauline Parmentier in semi-finals, where she won 4-6 6-1 6-3. It’s obvious that the French improved her game in comparison to previous tournament, but it’s still way off the World’s best players. Her opponents weren’t from the very top of Woman’s tennis, but her wins are more than hard fought, could be said that she just was less weaker in these matches. She is just playing most of the points very defensively, trying to keep the ball on the court and her serve is not helping her either – with this style of play and weak serve she has nothing to hope against in-form Italian.

Franscesca Schiavone, on the other side, looks like she is back in her good form. She was searching for her form for the most of the season, but it seems like she entered it at the very crucial moment for her, as she is defending the finals at French Open, as she lost in the Finals of French Open last season to Na Li. After many unexpected defeats and early exits, she finally has one good tournament behind her, as she won over Catandu, Lucic, Larsson and Stephens to reach the finals, winning all of them in two straight sets. Her game is stable again, she is not making so many errors she used to make in previous weeks and most important, her serve is working well again.

The Italian has won seven out of eight times she met Cornet, ending last three matches without a lost set. Schaivone is in-form again and against improved, but still just solid French girl she should expect just an easy job on her way to lift the first title this season.

FOGNINI TO WIN (-6.50 GAMES) AT ODDS 1.72

And we finally reach Roland Garros 1st round. Fognini is the number 45 of the world as Mannarino is the number 152. They have never played against each other before.

Fognini is getting into Roland Garros with a lot of pressure. He reached the quarter finals last year so if he doesn't get a good result here, he will drop down.
He is coming from bad streak when he won 1 game in the last 4 tournaments he played. Or better, to be honest, I've only seen him good at Bucharest.

Mannarino had a ridiculous clay season. He only played 2 challangers, Rome when he had a 6-1 6-0 for Krajinovic and Napoli when he won 3 players I've never seen before and gave a w.o due to ankle injury.
He came back and played nice, losing the 1st qualy round for Alejandro Gonzalez.

Well, Fognini has a lot to do if he wants to keep his points here. He played A LOT more clay games lately and also played in tournaments a lot better the ones Mannarino played. He also likes to play at Roland Garros as you can see looking to last year. For me, Fognini is really better and he is carrying a lot of more games this season.
I see Mannarino in trouble to win even a set, and I don't know how much better he is after the injury, because he only played one game as favorie and lost it.
If Fognini doesn't beat this handicap, it will be a huge surpise to me.

This is a match from Roland Garros between Juan Martin Del Potro and Edouard Roger-Vasselin. It's time for Roland Garros. Before this tournament Del Potro is 9th in the world. He is one phenomenal tennis player, but right now he have some problems. In his last game - against Albert Montanes Del Potro didn't show the best from him. He had some problems with injury, but right now he may be better. Roger-Vasselin is in very good form. He is 82th in the world. Vasselin played very well in first his match and he won with 3:0.

In this match I think that Roger-Vasselin will play very well and he will be presented with dignity.

My opinion is that Edouard Roger-Vasselin will win this asian Handicap at odds 2.00.

This is a bet I like quite a lot.
It seems clear that Raonic will win in 3 sets here, but odds are low on that.
Then we must ask ourselves... how is he going to return the serves?
Well, even if Levine has a good serve, Raonic has been improving a lot on clay since he has this spanish coach.
I think he will do great on returning, as he did both in Madrid and Barcelona. In Rome... he just didn't try that much.

Levine comes here after a really really bad season. But he comes from Qualifications here, and he won Becker in straight sets... What a surprise!
Not really... Becker is quite bad lately.

This handicap might seem large, but I don't make it that much.
Bookies are basically giving the game a set with 7-5 or 7-6.
I'm giving it, at most, a triple 6-4 that would mean it's a win. Raonic can sneak a 6-3 or a 6-2 in there, because he has really improved a lot on the returning.

It's also important to note that this clay is performing a lot better for servers than the one of Rome. It's a bit faster and I have already seen some good servers take advantage of it.
